We trust in the ability of women to choose how, where and with whom to give birth and believe women possess instinctual knowledge about how to birth their own baby.
As your Midwives, we approach your pregnancy and birth using evidence based resources while being rooted in the art of traditional midwifery.
Tracy Lough
My journey to becoming a midwife began in 2000. While living in Berkeley, Ca, I was studying at a local coffee shop one evening. As I got up to leave, someone had left a book called Midwives. I remember looking at this book and knowing it was important for me to read it. I got married a few months later and my husband, Jeff and I, took off for Yellowstone to work in the park before settling into our teaching careers. It was there that I devoured the book and everything I could find on the subject of midwifery. I had my first baby at home the following year. The moment I reached down and lifted my daughter into my arms, I felt such an inspiration to work with women and families around birth. As I began on my path to help empower women through this rite of passage I knew in my heart this was my calling.

Olympia McCutchan
I began my studies of women's health by mentoring young women as they entered into adolescence. After attending College, with my studies focusing on Women's Studies, Nutrition and Dance, it was in 2005 that I was introduced to the Midwifery Model of Care and fell deeply and passionately inspired. For the following two years, I apprenticed with a Granny-Midwife in Vermont and an in-depth birth center residency followed.
In January 2011 and September 2014, I experienced profound changes in my role as a midwife, when I entered into motherhood and the care of two children: birthing our daughter and son in our own home. We have such an opportunity to grow with each pregnancy and birth and both of mine have brought a greater sense of humility to my life. I am guided by my diverse experiences as a community midwife, along with a strong sense of grounding, commitment, open communication, and a deep trust in the processes of life. I see the family as a whole and the woman as a whole, knowing that there are depths to each being that cannot be seen on the surface.
I am honored to bear witness to each birth and help hold the sacredness of this rite of passage.
